       I watched the Euro 2020 final last night, and I think I am finished with sport altogether. Not that I am much of a spectator - I only join in when there’s a big event. We have already been appalled at the behaviour of some fans in the stadium and on social media, but I expected the players to set a higher standard. Coming second in an international tournament is a great achievement, but almost all the England players took their silver medals off as soon as they were put around their necks. Apparently this is a “thing” now in sport - to reject a medal if it isn’t gold. It’s pathetic - children wouldn’t be let do this at school sports. Between this and the trans Olympics, I am fed up with the lack of fair play and sportsmanship.
