i accidentally bought coke with sugar from the vending machine, so i went back to try again, but my bank declined the transaction because it was the same amount twice. i asked if i could Vipps some money to people so they could pay for me with their card, and one guy offered to help. but he didn't give his phone number and said "it's okay. i'm on vacation. 🙂"he didn't want my sugar coke in return either so i asked if anyone else wanted it, since i can't drink it, and a lady further back accepted it. so i didn't pay, but i at least "traded it in" in another way.

vending machines take forever to operate. you could pick up an item in a convenience store and finish with a cashier in the time it takes to figure the machine out, dial the item number and wait for it to dispense it.

also, it seems i left myself two cold cans of beer in the fridge. i've been warm all day despite not doing anything except walking and sitting. maybe it's the stress of travel. in any case, a cold beer is a fine reward.

the meat that i bought in Finland and kept frozen in my luggage has been put in the fridge and freezer, and kitty has been fed.now i'm wondering what to have for dinner. maybe i'll try some of the deer chips i bought in Finland, since i happen to have Brussel sprouts lying around. might take a shower before i start doing that. i'm disgusting right now. :pink_laugh:

ooh, the only thing i'm missing for making finnbiff is veggies. i have brown sauce and Brussel spouts. i'll just need mashed potatoes and carrots. maybe i'll go buy that. or maybe a real potato or two, since that's cheaper.

technically, you're supposed to use "cream sauce" (a light brown sauce with cream in it) but plain brown sauce should do fine, i think. i'm fairly broke this weekend so i'll have to make do with what ingredients i have in the house.

@thor @finlaydag33k That's cool. Do you have to pay to bring the cat onboard? In New Zealand they go in a pet area under the plane and you have to go through a third party. That's just for domestic flights.

@JarlavGrenlandUpir i usually make this dish with the powdered stuff. when i use the powdered stuff, i add less water than it says on the pack, put in extra butter and season it with finely ground pepper. if i want to take it up another notch, maybe mix in a little cream with the milk. you can make it taste pretty good if you're willing to modify it.
