Two problems with running a terminal in Emacs:1. Signing commits with GPG just fails. I think there's a parameter I can configure for GPG to make this work.2. I find myself opening emacs within emacs, and I don't know how to send key combinations through to the nested emacs. Obviously I don't *want* to nest; but, for example, "emacs -nw" is my default editor and it happens when I want to make a long commit message.

@groovestomp Emacs already has GPG integration with EasyPG built-in package. Is Magit not adequate for you?

@redstarfish perhaps. Only so many packages I can learn at once. 😃 I have it installed and started reading the docs...But fair point!

@groovestompWhat I wish I had read a couple of years earlier than I did: http://web.psung.name/emacstips/essential.htmlIt gets you ready to use vanilla Emacs well (it is only missing mention of 'M-x gdb' and 'M-x inferior-python' 'inferior-lisp' etc.). You can get going well even before choosing to use Magit, Org, Gnus, etc.@redstarfish @emacs
