Did anyone catch Jonny Best calling a mild GC view bigotry on “The Mess” I have to say I found it very disappointing to then see all guests defend the idea of “the feminine homosexual that needs to transition” completely ignoring that in itself is a gross misogynistic stereotype. @HebrideanHecate as I say it was very disappointing to see everyone then launch into an apologetic true trans diatribe. Either everyone who says they are “trans” is are or you are genuinely playing favourites based on very misogynistic standards. @Ladyfat @HebrideanHecate Disappointing, but understandable. I find that in real conversations I often capitulate to the suggestion that there is a tiny group of "true trans." It's a point I'm working on pushing back on because ultimately this capitulation ends up weakening my argument, as you have pointed out. It's hard to hold the line on the true trans point because of course it is impossible to talk to everyone on earth to ascertain whether someone is "truly trans." And a lot of us who have looked into this tend to be detail oriented, committed to understanding nuance, and careful in our words, so it is very easy to get tripped up here.

@Ladyfat @HebrideanHecate I agree with all of your points that capitulating here is dangerous. I've definitely gotten better at drawing a hardline but it has taken me years to develop the confidence to do so. I wonder if it is social conditioning -and trying to find common ground - that leads some of us to bend on this, even when we know it is wrong.
