I use different browsers on different devices and I’m looking for a safe and hopefully OpenSource bookmark manager. Ideally it supports folders or labels, has extension for various browsers. Does anyone have any suggestions?#askfedi

@fluffyThanks for the quick response. I had totally forgotten about this. It is also suggested by privacytools people. One big big drawback though is that it only supports Firefox (absolute piece of shit on iOS) and chrome (well, a privacy and data blackhole)I want something that works with Safari or Brave or Opera on iOS, and Firefox and chrome-based browsers on desktop. My main use-case though is keeping my mobile bookmarks organized as those need the most attention and time from my side.

@Mehrad hrrrmmm I'm not sure IOS makes it tricky there must be a nice bookmarking tool that does everything you need šŸ¤”. I been looking at this today.https://shaarli.readthedocs.io/en/master/

@Mehrad it has already being suggested, but xbrowsersync is amazing. Anonymous decentralized and selfhostable. It works well and it's encrypted. I can't think of any disadvantage

@fluffy @Mehrad I really like my little shaarli instance. It was easy to set up through docker (not sure how it fares manually) and it's set and forget with tags and little descriptions allowing you to find stuff later. Finally, I set it up so I can add bookmarks both from my android (shaarlier) and through qutebrowser with a quick shortcut. If you script a little you can also integrate it with e.g. your browser search or a quick search window on your desktop, very versatile!

@fluffyYou are right, they do, but what I’m looking for is a way to sync iOS Opera or Brave with desktop Firefox and Vivaldi@marty
