I don't know much about electricity. How much difference does .1 amp make..like 2.5A vs 2.4A. Specifically when it comes to powering a Raspberry Pi 3

@mgrondin Not really though but the Pi board is very delicate. It should work as long the power adapter is fine and doesn't fluctuate wrt voltage. The micro SD cards are the usual victims. I connected mine to a small USP to avoid that.

@thumb ya I mean it seems to work fine. Its not going to be powered on all the time using it as a Pi1541 for my VIC-20 so it'll only be one while it's on. I'll probably look for a different one. What if I go up to 3.0A. Is that better or worse?

@mgrondin It should be fine. If you are not adding more accessories that draw power, 2.4 should do fine.

@mgrondin There are many but I like all the stuff from Studio Ghibli. I saw 'Only Yesterday' recently and it's my current favorite.

@mgrondin It’s a maximum output rating. The RPI will use as much as it needs. No problem as long as it’s not too low.

@mgrondin In my experience with older pis, running on an underpowered adapter shouldn't damage the hardware at all, but I always got the rainbow crash screen every time I taxed the CPU too much, or when I plugged in a USB device that drew too much power. With that close of a rating it's probably close enough though. I really doubt you'd see more crashes at 2.4A vs. 2.5A.
