       I'm really out of practice soldering my own circuits on a perfboard. Don't know if a single circuit with a few traces justifies setting up a PCB etching station in my limited space here.#3dprint #3dprinting #rgbled #ws2812 #linux #diy #maker #programming #foss #floss #rustlang #rustprogramming #coding #raspberrypi2 #raspberrypi3 #raspberrypi #arduino #arduinouno #arduinonano #electronics

@weirdconstructor it looks great. You even have that pcb with copper rings, I usually use blank one.But if you hate, how it looks, aren't there suppliers for custom pcb? might be another option instead station, using once in a while only

@weirdconstructor I prefer having a pragmatic prototyping solution for this. Claro, a pcb etching station allows me to do "almost perfect" pcbs, nice and clean... But perfect is the evil of good. I prefer having a fast and direct workflow. I want to create something, let's do it. Sketch out a circuit, use the saw/cutter to cut out a fitting perfboard and lets solder. [1/2]

@ananda I fine with it. I'll get faster with more practice. I'm too impatient to wait and pay for PCB services. Also I am making still errors in my curcuit. Perfboard is good for fixing stuff 😄

@weirdconstructor ok, great. wasn't sure if you really want to buy station, just for "how it looks" Perfect look doesn't matter, and if, there are non transparent casings. nonsense to have high expenses for small number of boards.

@ananda I actually have everything here Fe3Cl, H2O2, UV light - I did a few PCBs years ago. But I don't have the space to set it up now. And to set it up again, I spend as much time preparing as I would have spent on soldering.Knowing how easy to solder a ready made PCBs is makes soldering on perfboard again a bit more tedious than I remembered.A future project is aimed to be on perfboard anyways,I want to publish tutorials eventually. And perfboard is just a much lower entry barrier for everyone

@weirdconstructor yes, it doesn't need additional equipment. makes it easier at beginning. If you like to go for FeCl, maybe you could go vertical to save space. air pump + stone shouldn't be complicated, to have nice liquid flow.you don't hate, if iron things get rusty same room? or would you have air exhaust additionally?

@ananda no idea, I don't have the space for it currently anyways 😁 the major worry I got with FeCl are the stains anyways 🤔
