If I want a remote web-based RSS reader and I don't want to host it myself, are there better options than The Old Reader?

I did end up going with hosted miniflux. Cheap and simple. I do have a hard time predicting when it will update my feeds. But The Old Reader is worse about it, updating some feeds more often than others, and then suddenly pulling a bunch of stale content a week later.

@ataraxia937 I am not sure how much control you have on the hosted miniflux but the configuration file has this setting to regulate the polling: POLLING_FREQUENCY=15. I think the default was 60 mins. I set it to 15 minutes.

@thumb Yeah, on the hosted service, I can't change or even see that. I expected it would be left as the default by the owner, but then yesterday I saw it take several hours between checks. I guess it's fine as long as it updates at least once a day.
