       @joebennett As a sailor and cruiser you don’t get far without hearing Jimmy Buffet tunes. Encapsulates a certain lifestyle and culture in a certain time. Brings back great memories. A little nostalgia for the old good times. Grateful for the living, sailing community and blowing those conches.

       @Nemhu @joebennett  Those of us who travelled the Intercoastal from South Fl to Norfolk, during 80's  HATED Buffet for getting so many people flocking to the Keys, and ruining the flavor of the place. Buffet NEVER lived in Fl, either.

       @joebennett @Sabina I understand. I didn’t say that I liked Buffet just that he had a big following in certain parts of the sailing community. In some of his songs he does capture the spirit of the lifestyle.He also had/has a big following of people who wanted the life he portrayed in his songs but never sailed. They flocked to his concerts, dressed up, drank, & had a good time. Parrotheads. I finally got to the Keys a few years ago and was able to imagine what it used to be like. Sad.

       @Nemhu @joebennett   The Keys started going bad around 89.  Feds ruined everyones day by illegally boarding boats, tearing them apart, and acting like A**holes.  Looking for square grouper(pot)or anything else they could find.  That didn't help, either.
