I didn't watch these videos, but I did look at stills.One is called "Video 1444," in which an 18-year-old Russian blows off the top of his head with a rifle.The other is the livestreamed suicide by shotgun of an army veteran named Ronnie McNutt.People view these videos as entertainment. I'm not that sympathetic to McNutt because he waited until all his friends were watching, and then he turned his entire head into an eruption of strawberry jam.He checked his phone on air.

@ThomasWic your thread is interesting. I used to follow a lot of nevertrumpers on that other site. I did notice they wanted to control everything & were obsessed w/public perfection. Privately it was ok to be a heathen. Years of reading your takes on Tim Pool had me not interested in his shows.

@SpiceOfOurLife I grew up with him - been a long time, I need to revisit his work.I've recently been re-reading Hawthorne, Poe, de Maupassant, & other old favorites. I'll add him to my list! @ThomasWic Brian Regan is my favorite comedian right now. Saw him live a few years ago. He once said that he doesn't do political humor because the instant you do that you alienate half of your audience. Jim Gaffigan is another famously clean comedian, although he's probably less snarky, more whiney. Still pretty funny!

@ThomasWic for many artists, the need to create is an urge that can't be stopped. we see things and need to make them. i'm not sure where this comes from, but it can be both a blessing and a curse. we'll never run out of ideas, only time, and we only have so much time. so the goal is to decide which ideas to execute on and which to ignore.
