       @Kalus A similar argument has been used to support "gun control," too.  Illegal guns are flooding in from neighboring states without restrictive laws...  and yet, seem to cause more of a crime problem where the restrictions are.

       @darulharb @Kalus I've never understood that argument about gun violence in places like Chicago. They say people can go to Indiana, where apparently guns are just laying around ankle-deep on the ground and bring them back to Chicago. But they never explain the disparity in gun violence between the two places.They don't explain it because it's cultural, it's not the availability of firearms that explains it. And that's way too fraught a subject to explore.
