       I moved my personal email to mutt via POP3 a few months ago.  I am now forced to use it solely on my computer. There are two big benefits. #1 I'm happier, as I'm not constantly bothered by it. Om Sundays, I don't see my personal email at all. #2. Responding to email on my computer (as it's meant to be) has helped me read ALL important emails, keep my inbox clean and organized, and answer all emails in a timely manner.

       @thegeekfather good plan you have.  I've settled on pop too, but use IMAP on the various laptops so I can always read the latest stuff.  So the pop account gets sorted and saved, the IMAP is just glanced at once in a while.
