@retroedgetech I'm not against someone making a buck off my work. Most of the time when we are posting answers to people's questions, or even posting code, regardless of the license, people are copying and profiting. I don't think a Copyleft license is necessary to inspire people to be generous with their talents.

I don't do test-driven development. It's really a buzzword that's so hot right now, like agile software development. I REALLY love when they try to combine the two buzzwords. Basically to say we want TDD, but don't want to pay for it. What always ends up happening with TDD is a half-assed attempt at some tests which are out-of-date and incomplete.

I moved my personal email to mutt via POP3 a few months ago. I am now forced to use it solely on my computer. There are two big benefits. #1 I'm happier, as I'm not constantly bothered by it. Om Sundays, I don't see my personal email at all. #2. Responding to email on my computer (as it's meant to be) has helped me read ALL important emails, keep my inbox clean and organized, and answer all emails in a timely manner.

In the movie AntiTrust with Ryan Philippe, you have Tim Robbins as a kind of "Bill Gates" clone. In the movie, he is stealing developers' code with cameras to read over their shoulders. In 2021, in the real world, developers just go ahead and push their code right onto Bill Gates' GitHub.

@DigitalOffgrider Github is owned by Microsoft. Everyone just sends their code via commits to Microsoft without a second thought, trusting in their benevolence and sense of fair play. It may not really matter as far as open source goes, but if you are working on something that's not, well Microsoft has never played fair.
