@alex @pasture I think some phones there cost less because of the economy but Apple phones still tend to cost bit more to the same mark (1000 dollars) but then people end up buying some of the older iPhones instead.

@alex Assuming that the average school janitor in the US makes 30,000 USD per year, that would be about 2,196,000 INR. That is pretty decent local dough, but doesn't sound right.I would wager that experienced people take home much more, and get to live like minor nobility, if a little overworked. Or they would be quickly poached by the competition.

@alex junior software engineers here go around 600 USD/mo but I've seen as low as 350-400I've seen Senior from 800 all the way up to 1800, the latter is pretty good for here tbh

@orekix @alex I used to work for ~600USD after my college studies at Chile.But also, the cost of life in Chile is ridiculously low in comparison to US.Even at Santiago, Chile (top 100 most dense cities), the cost of living is ~300USD, including food+rent.
