Butch Voices: Not for Female Proud Butches.As I really have few places to go to discuss Butch Dyke issues, I wanted to see what a Butch Voices Zoom meeting would be like.All the young Butch types in this town done transitioned. Only Lesbian Butches left are over 40. And many of them are ok with everything queerified , what few there are, or they're closety.So I did thank Goddess only about 1/2 hoir of a teo hour Zoom meeting, since I forgot it was happening till then. When I joined in, they were all talking trans stuff..ftm surgeries, hormones, twaw and they can be Lesbians too; NOT!!!Nothing to do with being a LESBIAN PROUD FEMALE PROUD BUTCH!!Such an utter turnoff for me. This was NOT my Tribe at all, even though all but one appeared as Butch Lesbian Females in ties and nice outfits. Only one really wild and crazy extremely hyped up talkative young ftm type with the scraggly beard, almost as if she were on speed. One young one went on ignorantly about Michfest, but there was an older Butch I knew around my age range who corrected her, a longtime Michfestie.When I spoke, I mentioned there would be several Festivals this year on the Michfest Land, some wbw, some trans inclusive. In fact so all you know, 5 out of 6 WILL BE strictly wbw. Thats from an inside source directly, an organizer. I talked briefly about being a Female proud Butch and that Id been to two Butch Voices conference to give my cred.Others talked the wild FTM used the Terf word... oh that set me off.I was called on again, and I said that terf is a hate term and if you want respect you gotta give respect, Id been.out 40 years as a Butch Dyke.A Black Butch Lesbian spoke after me, saying she agreed with me about the respect and basically putting the young ones on notice that us Elder Butches been thru hell and back to be put so THEY could have their freedom.I have to say I found that really supportive and appreciated her acknowledging my lifelong struggle as a Butch Dyke activist out loud and proud,and other elders as well, AND the Call for mutual respect and not to use hate terms!!

@FeistyAmazon It's really sad seeing all my butch peers trans the gay away. Every single lesbian I know, including me, went through a trans phase, all of them, and I know a lot of lesbians. A few survived but others not.It's so important for young butch lesbians to have butch role models and friends. That's what got me through it. I hope one day I can be that person for someone else.

@hystersyster and understand us older Butch Lesbians resisted and did not. Thats BECAUSE even with all the infighting and factions, the Lesbian communities were STRONG in the 1980s and we were PROUD to be FEMALE. We had OUR OWN.bookstores, Festivals, Concerts, Conferences, parties, events, Coffeeshops, bars, Lands, martial arts dojos and so much more. Butches were theworkhorses making much of this happen, including the powerful Tradeswoman Movement many.of us were part of, gaining men's skills so we could build our spaces, and make mens far greater salaries with full health and retirement benefits. There was NO talk of young Lesbians transitioning. We were building the " Womens Revolution" and living our out Lesbian lives coming to our refuges like bookstores, Festivals, Conferences to regroup and revitalize ourselves after out in the world of men.
