       HP's mac printer configuration tools are only published in the Mac App Store, which means you must provide a phone number and email address to Apple to get an Apple ID to get them.

       @sneak No app store here. And I don't need to publish a phone-number to get app store access. And you can make a fake address if you want. nobody ask for real credentials at all.

       @case2tv you cannot get free apps from the app store without an apple ID. you cannot get an apple ID without a phone number, which is verified via SMS.
