@jaycie why bother? Just start your own instance and pay the hosting company the $4-$10 a month and be done with it. plus if you're really good you can add other servers to the same instance. Such as a #writefreely blog, #xmpp server #mumble server and a host of other lightweight services. That's what I do. I even throw in an extra $5 to run a separate #Nextcloud server. Anyway, good luck.

@selea @jaycie it's interesting that it doesn't feel weird to pay for access to a community online. You'd think that we have become too used to "free" services with Faceb**k and whatnot, but the quality and enjoyment I get from the fediverse easily makes it worth it.
