I just realised, in the sci fi worldbuilding which I did years ago, there's a city on Mars called Tesla. But now, if I use that name, everyone's going to think of Elon fucking Musk. ðŸ˜

@hamjb Well yes, but this one specific dude who named his company after the actual Tesla, who has an obsession with Mars is in everyone's heads where sci fi is concerned. And I'm already fed up of sci fi authors naming things after him.

@RedFuture Honestly, I'm considering pointedly including some lore about the ill-fated first attempt to reach Mars, made by an early 21st century capitalist, which went so badly that in the 24th century, "reaching for Mars, but failing to grasp it" is a well known saying for inadequate planning with catastrophic consequences.

I'd keep the name, and just add a reference somewhere, e.g., a sign "Welcome to Tesla, named after Nikola" or a statue of Nikola Tesla in the main square or something.
