@mk @4WPub @Ilongedformuskrats This is currently going on in STEM where people think because there are few working in the field, that means women aren't studying STEM. The reality is women leave the profession because it's so sexist and hostile. Men being educated does not stop them from being misogynists. My law school class was the first to have 50/50 enrolment but I knew the fight would not end with us, that we did not occupy those desks for ourselves alone.

@mk @4WPub @Ilongedformuskrats Great piece that I'll keep at hand as it really goes thoroughly into its subject. Especially when I think of proponents of neutral language in my own (inclusive language took a wrong turn imo) when in fact we were just beginning to unearth forgotten sexed language that make women visible. Pains me to still see these terms in dictionary being qualified of dated, although that's true, I just wish it wasn't. Example: https://www.wordreference.com/enfr/authoressNeutral language is great to obscure facts about yourself in places where you wish to leave the smallest of footprints, but where there's bias to be fought against such as the workplace AND where you're all but anonymous to begin with, it quickly becomes irrelevant.

@senryu @mk @4WPub @Ilongedformuskrats Unfortunately it is both. Far fewer women than men enroll in STEM, AND women leave the workforce due to sexism as well as unaccomodating workplace practices around pregnancy and childcare.
