       I am the typical obsessed with privacy and anti forensic techniques. I mostly use secure services and I'm now trying decentralized messaging apps.I have tried, for example, Briar and now just installed Jami.        @bughuntercat I have used Jami, I like the idea of p2p chats. And group chat should be landing on it soon.But the people I communicate with don't understand p2p, they take it for granted if they send something, it will reach me even if they are not online. But that's now p2p works. Two parties need to be online at the same time.That's why I have no one to use Jami with.

       @hund @bughuntercat Tox is also a good candidate if you are after minimalizing your track. But as Hund mentioned XMPP is around for a long time and quite mature. Just use your own server if you want full control.

       @redstarfish Yes, you are right. I'm only do a bit of researching about this. For family and friends I use Telegram, but I'm looking for decentralized/p2p/secure/private apps mostly for infosec people and avoid tracking. My wif is not a tech person but she don't like spy, surveillance and tracking, so we use wickr or briar.
