Question for anybody that has experience with a #raspberrypi. Can you only boot from SD or can you boot from USB? I'm thinking picking up an 8GB Pi 4 after the new year to replace the VPS I currently use. I'd prefer to boot off at least a 2TB hard drive since I'd also be using it as a media server on top of the services I'm already hosting.

@jawshThe 8 GB is a newer variant and can boot from usb out of the box. If it is a 4 GB one, you boot it once through SD card, update the firmware and you can boot from USB.

@jawsh I have a pi 4 (only 4GB, though) and there are ways to boot from USB (documented in the official website, I think), but it requires you to boot first from SD card and upon power on you switch to boot from the external storage.Because of this I kind of gave it up, and just run straight from the SD card instead. But yours would be a good use-case - much faster, too.

@nawiThat is only on raspberry pi os gnu/Linux(official os on then pi). Openbsd installation is quite complicated on the pi and I have not tried it.@jawsh
