#Thunderbird's development seems unaffected by the staff cuts at #Mozilla. Lots of new stuff in the latest beta.https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/85.0beta/releasenotes/?uri=/thunderbird/releasenotes/&locale=en-US&version=85.0&channel=beta&os=Linux&buildid=20201217170743

By the way, if you're a #Thunderbird user, I recommend trying the beta.My experience has been quite smooth, and hopefully after the big migration to the MailExtensions API they will stop breaking all extensions on every new release.

@codewiz The #Mozilla Corporation has a contract with #Google for about $400 million USD per year.Mozilla claims they are "struggling", oh poor Mozilla, and they did fire a lot of senior programmers along with "heads of diversity" and other nonsense. However, it's not like four hundred million USD is pocket change and the incompetent CEO could cut her own salary and re-hire ten skilled programmers.I don't feel sorry for Mozilla. At all.

@codewiz I believe they separated Thunderbird from Mozilla like a year or two ago? I mean, they are part of it, but kinda not under the same financial umbrella as Firefox. They already shrunk their staff at that time.

@codewiz Ooh, that’s nice. I’m always attempting to install the press-esc-to-close extension and it is always incompatible.
