Just checked my insurance. $150 copay PLUS 20% coinsurance for an ER visit. So that's going to be fun when the bill arrives.

@tithonium that's why it's recommended to have an emergency fund that can pay for at least 6 months of typical expenses. Any larger than that, and a hospital is typically happy to set up a payment plan. Also bankruptcy only lasts for 7 years so if it's REALLY big, it won't necessarily follow you for life. 'Murica.
