I'm a lifelong fan of warm, indirect, dim lighting; I find it cozy, and my eyes hurt easily with strong light. So this room has some pretty weak lamps in the ceiling, well covered. That's terrible for selfies and video calls tho, especially now that the sun is dead and there's no more daylight in these strange lands. So I got a desk-clamp lamp, put a 1500lumen warm LED on it, reflected on the wall, and……turns out I feel better turning it on?? :surprised_pikachu:

Like I know a lot of Latinas – and quite a few natives, even – who deal with SAD, but I honestly didn't think having more light would affect my mood or psychological feeling in any way. Isn’t it funny when the evidence contradicts your own story about yourself. A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.

Here's unedited webcam photos of the current setup, btw, without and with the new lamp pointing to the wall behind the desk.
