@nvsr honestly I've tried a few of the previous Star Trek shows, but I could never really get into it. This is the first one that keeps me watching. I'll give Enterprise another try after this.

@Gina Regrettably, IMDb has been lost to the manchildren. It’s a systematic problem across the reviews on most of the site. Almost every show I watch has a high concentration of comments like this. I wish IMDb knew or cared that it harms the usefulness of their site. Also, Discovery is a great show.

@GinaI stopped watching after s03e02. Just because it became boring last season already. They can cast whomever they want, but please improve the writing. It's more about the CGI and effects that a proper show.Picard was only slightly better, but that was just a let's see how much money we can spend show.But we had Janeway, seven of nine, there have been plenty of great actors on it. Discovery hardly does them justice.

@GinaMy one complaint about Discovery is that half the characters are crying half the time.I have nothing at all against emotional scenes, but there are other things in life than being overcome with gratefulness at having people around. It is for sure a hugely important part, and something of a theme of S3... but maybe some plot in between would also be good?(Exaggerating for effect. It doesn't mean I don't like the show.)

@Gina This 50-yr old white working class Englishwoman loves ST:Disco. Every new series takes a while to find its footing, but this 3rd season has really got into the groove. The diversity of characters + attention to respectful group dynamics + understanding of how trauma affects people long term are all big pluses for me.

@Gina So ... not your point, I know ... and I did like the lead character and a couple of the supporting characters.Nevertheless, a lot of the criticism rings true for me. The tech level is wrong for the point in time they shoe-horned the series into, the back story for Michael becomes less believable the more I hear of it, and what they did to the Klingon race was just unforgivable. They may be interesting characters, but they're not Klingons.

@Gina I love Discovery! It took getting past the 4th episode though. Picard and Discovery have a different feel compared with the other ST shows, much darker less episodic. Once I got past those facts, it really got into them. Burnham is by far my favorite ST character.
