Once again, I set up Microsoft Azure Storage & VM for a project, because "free developer account". And I've spent ~5h on this and got nowhere.World's largest s/w company has made a product more complicated than AWS/EC2 which is a phenomenal achievement.I should have banked the cash and used rsync or sftp.

@dch We reduced our costs by 90% (and vastly improved our workflows) by moving to Digital Ocean from a (blechy) combination of AWS and Azure. They're both remarkably overhyped and unworthy.

@lightweight I have been using https://packet.net/ (now part of equinix) for most server deployments now. Bare metal, on demand, no K8s or similar over-engineering. Turns out small boxes are plenty fast these days when your i/o and network aren't artificially throttled. Running FreeBSD & Elixir on them is a delight.
