       @alan found some very good general arguments there. I am becoming increasingly pissed off and concerned with Apple tightening every last screw of their walled garden. What used to be a rather obscure, but still portable *nix ecosystem, is now turning into a sandbox for the mass consumer, preventing any attempt at tweaking, or making it more suitable to one’s special needs.

       @preslavrachev @alan What you just wrote about Apple and macOS could have been written (and was) about Apple and A/UX in 1988. People bitched, people moaned, but they only decamped en masse once Apple looked like a dead platform.
