I have a Garmin GPSMAP 66s. This is a great device, which does One Thing Well -- navigation, with no dependence on The Cloud™, uses standard AA batteries, is waterproof and shockproof, and has served me as well in downtown Baltimore as it has in rural Kenya.Who's got a big list of devices like this? Focused technology, well executed? The old Swing-A-Way (now EZ-Duz-It) can openers are like this.

@khm I don't know, but I'm going to be watching this space for when someone does post such a list.

@khm https://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/products/cameras/digital_compact/digital_ixus_series/digital_ixus_60.html?type=specifications Canon Digital IXUS 60/Powershot SD600. Bought new in 2006. I'm on the second battery - the original one loose charge very fast. It's size is around a pack of cigaretts, very short time from shut off to taking a picture (under 2 seconds), CCD gives a decent images no matter what (I dislike very much the quantum noise generators called CMOS imaging sensors), analog viewfinder - gives me around 400-500 pictures taken on one charge of the battery.
