Deleted my few years old Instagram account. I wasn't active and don't need to keep it around. In fact my downloaded data is less than 150KB.Instagram is sorry to see me go. I am not 😃️Note about account deletion:For those of you who can't find the delete account button after logging in, download your data from security settings page. Then go to https://instagram.com/accounts/remove/request/permanent/ and log in to delete your account.

@murtezayesil is it like Facebook where they encourage you to "deactivate", rather than "delete"?

@murtezayesil I deleted mine recently as part of defacebooking my corner of the universe. All I have left of the evil empire is Whatsapp and that's only because my parents use it.

It is owned by Facebook and temporarily deactivate button was in account settings while delete account permanently wasn't. I ducked and found a guide in howtogeek.@TinBee

I talked to them about Telegram. Especially elderly relatives say that they don't want to learn something new, they know WhatsApp and it is enough for them.I set up Jitsi server for video conferencing but they would rather stick with Zoom because they like the simplicity of clicking on a link and ending up right in the conference. This is how Jitsi works too but the way.I came to a conclusion that being first and convenient online service is very effective on elderly.@zigpress
