Hello fediverse. I have a mechanical keyboard and I want to change the fucking windows keycap with a custom one. I liked this https://www.maxkeyboard.com/custom-backlight-compatible-keycap-for-backlit-keyboard.html but with the shipping is very expensive for only one key. Does anyone know if there something similar in Europe?#askfediverse

@jrballesteros05 Does it have to be backlight compatible?

@hund Hello hund. It does have to. I just want to change the "win" keycap for something related to GNU or Linux.

@jrballesteros05 Then I have no good recommendation. I'm not aware of any high quality manufacturer making anything that supports backlights. You could check out the Chinese market, I'm sure there's tons of options on like Banggood and Aliexpress.https://m.aliexpress.com/wholesale/Shine+through+keycap.html?channel=direct&keywords=Shine+through+keycap

@hund Sorry. I made a mistake. I meant I does not have to. I am still interested. At the moment I want a keycap different from Windows.

@jrballesteros05 What you're looking for is the OEM-profile and preferably PBT-plastic. The key size is 1.25U large and it's the first row (R1).

@hund Hi I don't know what profile would suit better. I don't know much about mechanical keyboards if you recommend me something I will appreciate it. The keycap size is standard (1x1.25). This is the picture.

@jrballesteros05 The standard profile on keycaps on off-the-shelf keyboards are almost always OEM-profile. You want the same appearance.I will look if I can find something for you.
