@Twelve I played around with a USB fan with my Raspberry Pi, and it was surprisingly good at keeping it cool under high loads. It definitely isn't quiet, but maybe it could be a solution if you don't find anything else.

@Twelve Honestly I just ran a Minecraft PE server on it and connected. That was enough to max out the CPU on my Raspberry Pi, and then I just used this command to get the temp:cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/tempThere are definitely better ways to do it, I just wanted something basic.

@ZambyteThe command dose the trick. Learbed that i can't really stress it much anyways due to lack of ram, but i know it runs up yo around 60c with a bit of load, gonna now run a vigger fan and see if that results in better temps. Or at least make it quieter. Only questuon is if i should include the battery as a backup power, but i am afraid of it just wearing out from beeing charged all the time

@Twelve if you don't plan to use it as a laptop again, it doesnt really matter if you wear out the battery. It can be nice to use it because if your power goes out, the server doesn't have to reboot. It can just reconnect to the internet when it becomes available again.

@ZambyteTrue, and if i don't charge it, its just gonna die anyways, so might be better to just keep charging it. I know my perents might be concerned that it is a fire hazzard duo ti it getting hot, but i do think its gonna be fine

@ZambyteAlso results in, og fibe 64c, 120mm fan 60c at ideling, and both fans 50c under load, 39c ideling. I just used an ububtu ubety live cd for this so i am oretty sure i can get that down when i run sonethibg lighter. I just hope this cpu had ebouth horse power. Tho i see that ram upgrade is defebtly gonna be needed. I have a dead laptop i can rob sone from

@TwelveOn some laptops it's possible to override the bios/charging values to suit your own. Easy on a ThinkPad, but mileage varies on other makes@Zambyte
