I caught a good few years of a fairly normal scene in London in mid-noughties and then one by one places started to close. A lot of them were bulldozed for the Crossrail project, but it was quite convenient that so many gay/lesbian places had to close because of it. There was a fantastic place called First Out that felt like my spiritual home and then off that went too!

There are so many (and it was the same in New York last time i was there. Feckin no bars for women any more) that have been either destroyed or taken over by the men in dresses, and they need not to be allowed to disappear.
