First day of school for the kids today. They're all remote/digital. Let's just say that there have been some "technical difficulties" this morning that have been... substantial.

@mike Bluetooth, printers, or WiFi? Those are the usual culprits.

@mike anything worth sharing? My main issues were internet speed maxed out when 4 of us using video chat and downloads. Found out using my opnsense dashboards. Other than that, running webcam on older Linux desktop, permissions issues. The worst is when it happens while I'm on a call...

@jforseth210 School district's server got squished by traffic. They had a little portal setup so the students had one place to go for Zoom links and resources, but they didn't size the project correctly apparently.

@benoitj Not really. No issues on our side except for a glitch with headphones. Zoom doesn't assume just because headphones are plugged in that you actually want to use them. You have to manually switch over to the headphones to get them to work. Otherwise, it just keeps right on using the speakers. That can be problematic with multiple kids in a single area. The other issues were with the school district's web portal getting demolished by traffic.

@mike as for.me, I will have to write some exams online from the 21st of September, but I am honestly not confident that the college will implement the platform properly, or at all.
