Other than that, running webcam on older Linux desktop, permissions issues. The worst is when it happens while I'm on a call...

@GatoOscuroproofs are stored in your public key, its not on a server or service. To be valid, the service has to have the key fingerprint. It's using notations supported by openpgp standardIt's not trying to solve all problems, just identity proof. @mdkcore @keyoxide

@mikeyeah, I see that once in a while with my colleagues The "when are you going to be done", "I am hungry"... or just kids in the background. I find it funny. Mine are at high school, so easier (or more difficult for different reasons :P)I don't think there are valid reasons to force the return to the office. I've been talking with our management and advocating that freedom of choice is beneficial to both parties. Will see if I succeed :D

@ghil for a simple static site, using basic tools including hugo or jeckyl, Netlify gives you 0 to publish in one hour or two. You could actually use both, netlify for web page serving, jenkins for building and publishing, but this is not necessary in most cases.@daver98 @mike @kev

@Gina certs are just used as a way to sell you to inexperienced companies. Consulting companies pay certs to their employees to win contracts, negotiate alliance with (cloud) companiesyou dont even need an IT education to succeed in this field. Is you learn fast, can think, gain meaningful experience and result, it will beat anyone with 15 years of work history who never became competentIf someone requires certs and does not pay, run...

@kev yeah, thought the same, write my own, or use something simple. I will eventually write my own. I lost too much time on my emacs config, so was afraid to have another incomplete solution.

@worldsendlesscouple of benefits that apply to both #nix and #guix: declarative configuration core to the OS, you can rollback a bad install, or even a bad boot configuration at boot time, you can have confidence your config will wont break for the same version, for example, my previous config is possibly 6-8 months hold, I should be able to just "switch" it and it will work. this is what i've experienced in my multiple migrations :D @daviwil @fsf
