I never like to criticize FOSS but I have tried to use Riot/Element with friends so many times and the UX is unfortunately always awful: awkward user flow, cryptic icons without labels, and just generally unintuitive. I hope with the next iteration all this will get improved.

@trobador I've unforuntately had the same experience as you. It's a very typical electron application: slow-feeling, large for what it needs to do, and quite awkward at times. I still use it for now though since it seems to be the most complete client at this time.There is a plugin for the Weechat IRC client (https://matrix.org/docs/projects/client/weechat-matrix) if you're interested.

@jbauer @trobador It seems fine for me, but I haven't set up all the bridges yet. I expect I'll get more frustrated with it. It is electron cancer. At some point it will surely eat through more ram than a Spring boot application. We should really just go back to Java.
