I have been giving #Midori a try. Previously I've been using a #Icecat and #Lynx. I'm considering midori as a replacement for #firefox based browsers.

@redstarfish you can't customize it, scroll is somewhat laggy compared to palemoon and falkon. In my opinion midori is only good if you have low spec pc and need to browse.

@chilitaco I might give falcon a try later. If I know correctly Palemoon is firefox based, currently not trying to use ff based browsers.

@redstarfish @chilitaco That might be for the best. Palemoon has some issues, a major one being that the maintainer seems primarily motivated by sticking with what he knows rather than updating his software. There was also a major security breach where their add-ons page got hacked and either nobody knew about it or it wasn't fixed for months.I use SeaMonkey myself, but SeaMonkey is slow to update and doesn't support very many add-ons. It also has a nasty habit of freezing Flash videos.

@redstarfish I've used Midori, and I like it. But I'm currently hooked on Qutebrowser...though, I would like to try out BadWolf, if for no other reason than the Dr. Who reference.

@t0ta1packg3 You mean latest Distrotube video? Well I decided to give Midori a try after that video (though it was about badwolf)

@redstarfish @chilitaco Recently visited the Midori projects webpage without an adblocker...that was kind of scary. There were ads that acted like notifications or play buttons.Of course, says nothing about the software quality (and everyone has to earn some money), but somehow did not match my expectation...

@hrodnand @chilitaco Yeah! The first two times I tried to open their webpage with their web browser and it took forever so I thought website is down. Then after you posted this I tried again and this time it connected. The website didn't even work properly with their own browser(I opened it with Icecat side by side and it work working fine in it).So I also installed falkon browser now, and like it. Falkon is better than Midori.

@redstarfish Yes. I had never heard of BadWolf, but I'm a Whovian...so I gave it a shot. So far, it does what I want. I'm used to Qutebrowser (love, love, love Vim keybindings) so there will be a bit of an unlearning curve...but so far, so good.
