       this house track I had on in the background has a sort of "skruhttuht" sound which EXACTLY duplicates the seek sound of a 3.5" floppy drive, and for several seconds I had a mystical, displaced-in-time experience wondering whether my computer somehow still had one of those

       @aphyr i expected the head to keep clicking after the initial mount. never interacted with ZIP drives personally, but I know. i KNOW.

       @aphyr dude! If you have not heard the EP "Nerds Trying To Dance" by "Pedestrian Tactics" you should. Especially the track "Where'd My Head Go?" which downright weaponizes the Mac startup sound from the Quadra era. You can find it on YouTube. Enjoy!
