Use a Mac? “Tip” is like Popclip, except open source, lives entirely in a sandbox, and is extensible via a script that you write yourself in your own favorite language: https://github.com/tanin47/tipI select some text with a mouse. If the text has an IP in it, a pop up gives me a clickable link to its whois page. Non English text? I get a link to translate it. An integer? It shows me the human time that number would represent if it were a Unix time stamp. Super nifty stuff!

In fact, this was the Rust I was writing last night: https://gist.github.com/kstrauser/d11caaec2548de42c0b806ad45e5d119I'd first written it in Python, but since it has to fire up the interpreter ever time you open the popup, latency was really bad. Replacing it with Rust made it seem instant.

@codesections It's pretty spiffy. It's definitely not as polished as PopClip today and I have no idea if anyone but me and the author are using it, but I like the openness of it.
