It is completely inappropriate to publicly name women who have reported experiences that constitute, or are very close to, sexual harassment. That takes away what voice they do have and gives it back to the abuser. I am disgusted by this, and yes, feel bullied, harangued, and goaded into officially confirming events. Those who were not there, did not witness events, and have not spoken to the (at the last count, seven) women reporting similar behaviour, really have no business telling people that their own experiences are wrong. I feel a strong need to distance myself from these people: it is deeply immoral behavior.

You're right. That was disgusting. And now she's back at it- that is, "How it all went wrong in the first place and don't hurt my mental health because I was bullied for being too smart".Is that mean? I apologize for spreading this shit. @DrLouiseMoody

I mean this kindly. She is not unique in that respect. I got it, and I don't need to explain the added dimension of being deaf. I don't, however, regard myself as being especially more intelligent than most. And, if you're still this deeply affected in your forties, then perhaps some kind of talking therapy might be appropriate. And this is being kind because there is a much less charitable interpretation of what she's saying.@Tania

She seems a bit nutty to me (not a mental health professional, and I'm nutty on a daily basis anyway...) She's been writing this thread for 2 hours already. Her evidence of people attacking is Non existent - the worst thing is that she has screen shots imo). Why is she even involved? This started when K Stock got her angry pants on about the people laughing at JJ, and got called out by S Philmore (?). JC didn't need to martyr herself for this. She doesn't seem as mean as the others (Ditum and Becca and Bindel and Stock). I just hope she quits naming women. She'll delete it all anyway, but not before she does harm.@DrLouiseMoody

Oh- calling MacKinnon a man was too much for their movement and they had to distance themselves. They should distance themselves altogether if they don't think that huge POS is a man.@DrLouiseMoody

“They” have internalised the ‘left wing = inclusive = be nice” mantra and are now parroting it back to the masses. Unfortunately what they thought they always wanted has happened; everyday women have embraced feminism; however it turns out everyday women know the left abandoned us long ago and we’re not prepared to “be kind” about the bastards who stole it from us. A man is a man is a man, everyone knows it. If you are a “feminist that writes about feminism” and feel that staying such is too brash or otherwise unwise, step aside for those that will. Truth over lies. @Tania @DrLouiseMoody

@Ladyfat @Tania @DrLouiseMoody Here is where "our strategy" of left wing purity got them:*The Labour trans pledge being supported by all leadership candidates.*The party machinery refusing membership applications by suspected terven.*A landslide victory for the Tories at a general election. But we lessers (including those of us who are actually of the left, not some bourgeois liberal mediating class version of it) are supposed to continue to comply with "our strategy" as the only game in town? We wait another five years in the vain hope the "left" will get its shit together? Because if we don't, middle class women will hyperventilate on the phone to their mum for three months at the possibility misogynists on Twitter will call them Tories?Forgive me if I think the gaslighting of girls in schools, girls getting double mastectomies, women incarcerated with sex offending men and sexual coercion of lesbians are all more pressing concerns than "our strategy".

Very well put. Plus, humour and mockery are tools we should just lay aside? The weapon of last resort of the peasantry -- laughing at the aristocracy -- is a "bad look"? whut? and you are offering this advice calling it "strategic"?turn about and prepare to be laughed at!Having read the whole piece by JCJ (who uses humour and mockery ALL THE TIME, jeepers, it's what makes her so admirable!), I was really struck by the assertion that she "used to be" really male-identified (and attributes this quality to Stock, perhaps wrongly) and says it's something that is true of many smart feminists.I feel like I am a pretty smart feminist and I've NEVER been male-identified, not ever, my best friends have always been women and the very occasional gay man, since childhood. I"m not a recovering "cool girl". Some of this might be about different women's paths to feminism and how some of us never had a detour through expecting to be powerful the way men are powerful and so have no lingering attachment to the strategies attached to that, we don't want male power we just don't want to be crapped on for being women.@LangCleg @Ladyfat @Tania @DrLouiseMoody

Oh, good lord. The penny just dropped. The whole thing now reads like a woman who never felt she belonged anywhere (she says as much herself), having an almighty identity crisis! There is something deeply sad about seeing someone try to make another woman into a mother figure, the way Stock is clung to here, and another, in this case Posie, being spoken about as the pretty and popular girl from primary school who will never understand your troubles. And alongside it all, clinging for dear life to a lifelong belief in left=good right=bad, which now incomprehensibly to her, sees her accused of being elitist. Many of us have been through the heartache of facing the fact, that the left has left the building some time ago. @kathleenbee @LangCleg @Ladyfat @Tania @DrLouiseMoody

@VanBeeterfen @kathleenbee @LangCleg @Ladyfat @Tania @DrLouiseMoody The left were never in the building. They were people women thought they could work with. And for a good while they were..

@AnneBevan @VanBeeterfen @kathleenbee @Ladyfat @Tania @DrLouiseMoody It used to be "after the revolution, love". Now it's worse: "you don't actually exist any more".
