@LunaDragofelis that seems fairly clever actually, although i can see ways to possibly make a solver. might be hard tho

@null @LunaDragofelis the thing you need to weigh is the amount of human effort required to create the CAPTCHAs, vs to deal with the amounts of bots that get through.the problem with something like this is that there is a limited number of things and you need to write them manually - you could very easily create a solver.and even then, CAPTCHA farms are a thing. at least you'd be encouraging English literacy in slums, I guess

@mewmew @LunaDragofelis that's the other potential thing i see too, solver farms.

@mewmew @null @LunaDragofelis And on top of that, you could still use humans' solutions to those captchas for ML training, which sucks.

@LunaDragofelis given the source code for the captcha generator, it’d be pretty trivial to write a program to solve it; you wouldn’t need full-blown NLP, just basic pattern matching.

@null @LunaDragofelis yes. you will never have an accessible, effective, privacy-respecting CAPTCHA. it is impossible

@hierarchon @LunaDragofelis yeah, regex seems like it might be able to solve it pretty trivially

@LunaDragofelis @izaya I think this is not a bad idea as long as you are capable of generating the challenges in such a way that bots can't infer the meaning just from the structure, like, splitting by a certain word. I remember Tom Scott had a video rather recently about sentences that require understanding of context that computers cannot easily comprehend
