*sigh* I don't understand why this solar coop I'm a member of has decided that instead of focusing on building Solar they want to focus on obstructing Nuclear.Nuclear energy is incredibly safe; incredibly reliable, and is essential for a post-scarcity future.

@zee People who align with solar are generally the sort of person who doesn’t understand complex systems and has bought into decades of “nuclear bad always” propaganda

@aurynn I think solar is a key part of the energy grid. But it's not the only answer :(

@zee Solar is a part of the answer. But nuclear is essential, has to be essential

@aurynn @zee The only problem with nuclear is that by the time the permitting is done and then the construction completes it will be 2030 already :)It's so incredibly expensive, too... we may very well have solar prices through the floor and a breakthrough in large energy storage (sodium ion) by then which will mostly negate it.

@feld @aurynn you’ll notice that none of us asserted that wasn’t the case.Advocating against nuclear is not the same as advocating for solar. What’s frustrating is that a solar coop has decided to spend its limited resources advocating against nuclear instead of demonstrating how solar is a viable path forward.

@zee @aurynn yep, such a waste of resources...i wish you luck in stopping it
