My face while attending a stupid useless SUPERSMOOTH #Zoom meeting with 50 people while frantically redeploying my #BigBlueButton server because for some reason it needs Ubuntu 16 instead of 18?! Also none of my coworkers are going to leave Zoom for BBB or an improved version of #Jitsi. Also I've slept too little. And it's shark week. And I'm fat. I hate everything and everyone.

@GinaMeanwhile as I'm working on my thesis we have to use Skype for business as the PhD psychiatrist I'm working with use his @ work laptop which doesn't allow for any new programs (for some security reasons).. He got zotero installed with help from the it-dep but it won't connect to my nextcloud WebDAV because of "invalid" certificates.. I'm using a fully valid let's encrypt cert so shouldn't be a problem... Aaaaaargh... And from the units side we're recommended to use zoom... Life is tough...

@Gina Yea well transitioning to work @ a distance isn't as easy in the medical field as it's full of somewhat tech illiterate people in an it-environment with harsh security(in many times dumb ways). all to make sure the illiterates don't leak sensitive patient data to the web i guess.. The big question is: why is Microsoft fine then?

@Gina Maybe you can run it in a Docker/Podman/LXC container?I know how you feel though, my internship company used Zoom, tried #Jitsi once because of the privacy issues, and then a few of my coworkers said they rather sell their soul to Zoom than have to continue to use Jitsi... Not sure what we'll use with the next call...

@Gina it's really nice to see someone else make the rallying cry for #jitsi. Updated my instance yesterday after two remote teaching sessions. I swear most of people's issue with it is their patience and perception of what they think they know about Zoom.

@Gina sorry to hear that. What is an improved version of #jitsi? I have had so much success after my coworkers moved to the electron app instead of browser.
