@operaYes well I think these cheap notebooks you mention have loads of merits especially the fact that many also have x86 cpus. The x86 plattform is expensive though and the money saved is money they(#pine64) can use to up the overall quality of the notebook. There are power benefits of the ARM platform and having a notebook with the same base will help me when tinkering with my other SBCs.. And I like the community behind the project which I also want to support! #rockpro64

@nextcloudUpgraded today and the online updater didn't work, after deactivating maintenance mode the page went blank. Had to manually upgrade though command-line.. Had me sweating a little

@e_mydataI really want to try /e/ but as a swede I need some apps to work namely "mobilt bankid", "swish" and my bank app. You guys know if this should be possible? In Sweden these functions are as important as a credit card or drivers licence, its very hard without them!

@MatterThanks for the reply, I want to get away from the Google but living in a truly cashless society were you need an app to give your friend that pizza money you owe him is holding me back.. Doing your taxes, contacting healthcare, checking your pension, paying online(well f*** me, everything remotely important) is a real pain without the electronic ID app... @e_mydata

@MatterOne could hope our governments realise how dependant we have become of these services and how these de facto core infrastructures are owned by huge American corporations... @e_mydata

@GinaMeanwhile as I'm working on my thesis we have to use Skype for business as the PhD psychiatrist I'm working with use his @ work laptop which doesn't allow for any new programs (for some security reasons).. He got zotero installed with help from the it-dep but it won't connect to my nextcloud WebDAV because of "invalid" certificates.. I'm using a fully valid let's encrypt cert so shouldn't be a problem... Aaaaaargh... And from the units side we're recommended to use zoom... Life is tough...

@Gina Yea well transitioning to work @ a distance isn't as easy in the medical field as it's full of somewhat tech illiterate people in an it-environment with harsh security(in many times dumb ways). all to make sure the illiterates don't leak sensitive patient data to the web i guess.. The big question is: why is Microsoft fine then?

@nextcloudI for one am totally for this initiative, data collected ethically and open for anyone who wishes to create a machine learning algorithm! We need to support alternatives to Facebook, Google and other companies with awful privacy policy's.. We also need to show them that datacollection can be done while protecting peoples privacy

@GinaIs that a frequently occuring thing where you live? I've heard that there are serious differences in the amount of courting depending on the country (america is apparently very obnoxious). In Sweden (I'm sure it do occur) I've never seen/heard it outside of bars and nightclubs
