@Gina Take your bike and a tent. Start at home, take the north sea cycle route. Stop whereever you are in 5 weeks. Take the next train, come home. Try it. Cycling heals.

@Gina I'd get an Interrail card - something like 15 days of travel within 2 months, and then fuff around in Spain/France/Germany/(Poland)/Austria/Czech Republic/Slovenia.

@Gina Buy a travel bike for ~1000€, then bike through Germany, Austria, Italy, then along the adriatic coast through Croatia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Montenegro Albania to Greece. That's about 3500 km. :awesome:

@Gina Japan.Every.Single.Time.You may not be able to stay in Japan for 6 weeks uninterruptedly for only 2000 euro. For a single person I estimate a budget of 2000 euro to last about 2 weeks (including going crazy shopping and spending without much regard for finances) or about 4 weeks if you're extremely careful and save up even the tiniest cent. Eating as cheap as you possibly can (without impacting your health) and such.If you finally decide to go visit Japan, do not forget to purchase the JR Pass https://www.jrailpass.com/ it lets you move freely between any city in Japan with high speed train stations (that's to say, most of the interesting ones to visit).I cannot stress enough how much travelling to Japan changed me, from the inside out. It is an experience everyone should have, regardless of their country of origin (except if they were born in Japan I guess lol).If you decide to visit Japan, let me know and I can give you some tips and places to visit so you have the best experience possible.I miss Japan so damn much and I will definitely visit it again at a later point in life. Multiple times, too. It really is that good.

@GinaFrom Amsterdam, you should be able to make it to the Dordogne in a long day or the Loire in a more reasonable day. Both are nice places to spend a couple days in if you drive through. And they're reasonably priced, and like all of France outside the big cities, the food is good and affordable.@tapaniraja

@Gina you mean like you have one available in Europe or you're bringing it with you? Going by rail seems like it would be cheaper, and then you wouldn't have to worry about parking at all. (Also better for the environment)

@Gina I have never been there yet, but watched for it recently, from the short glimpse I took I can tell it's sunny and warm, it has one very old city, you can wander through an island to another, kanoe and rafting seem to be the thing to do, can go see the whales by boatBut 6 weeks is probably a bit long unless you aren't looking to move a lot every week
