       It's a real pity that #duolingo didn't go the no-profit, free-software  way. They seem decently serious in wanting to provide free education, but I'd never waste money or contribution time in a for-profit operation that could disappear in a puff by being bought or going bankrupt.Happy to see an alternative coming!

       @caffeine Exactly my thought. I still hope they release Duolingo as free software in the future.The algorithm behind Duolingo is also pretty cool, they wrote a few blog posts about it which are really interesting to read. Hope Librelingo uses a similar approach.

       @KopfKrieg @pinkprius I do really hope so!By the way another interesting software for language learning that I found out recently:  https://github.com/tkrajina/10000sentencesIt focuses on a single kind of interaction (translate a phrase by tapping), but it's still quite useful!Moreover, the phrases I see are even more "real" and colloquial than in Duolingo.It's on F-Droid of too 😃
