@thegibson I run a dozen arm instances there and a couple x86 onesCheap and usefulIf they hiccup it can be a PITA to get back online.Their arm instances can take awhile to reboot ; even if you use sytemctl reboot...And their button in the web UI doesn't always kill the instance 'quick', especially if the underlying host has issues. When you shut an instance down they do a data blast from local machine -> back end storage so if you've got big volumes it can take awhile for a shutdown / migration / rebootSMTP ports are blocked by default and you need to open a ticket / provide ID to get it unblocked at the FW level for your account

@thegibson Good for non critical servicesDeploy something elsewhere to keep tabs and/or monit on the local host to keep tabsMy x86 instances have been quite stable but whatever they are using to back the arm instances tends to be problematic for some reason.YMMV may vary of course.I moved from OVH -> Scaleway and have no real complaints.I prefer Azure but they don't offer arm instances [yet]

@kemonine Azure's spend hurts too much now that I no longer have my MSDN credit.

@thegibson @kemonine f1 instances from GCP are free forever...They're small, but if you need a quick sandbox for a simple PoC, you're not going to get a better deal.

@kemonine @neuromancer And since there will be no logs, GDPR will not be a problem.
