Getting that distrohop itch again. Damn. I still want to experience a different init system than systemd.

@fatboy You can try GNU Guix [1] as it uses GNU Shepherd [2]. This is what made me dump Arch, so it's pretty damn good I might say.[1]: https://guix.gnu.org/[2]: https://www.gnu.org/software/shepherd/

@fatboy in fact I start thinking that systemd is not the biggest issue. Because I am currently on arch, and system just rocks. It feels way faster than Fedora and Ubuntu together. However, alpine felt even more fast.I'd recommend you to try Alpine Linux. It is not just systemd-less, but glibc-less 😁

@fatboy I am happy with my #voidlinux install, so if you are up to that, there is my recommendation, you also have MC Linux non systemd arch derivatives (or Manjaro non-systemd edition) and the like

@Meeper I have tried Void before, but didn't set it up properly. ThinkbI should give it a go again also. Are you using the musl or glibc setup?

@fatboy Sure, do give it a spin! I am not the most experienced in any case but feel free to ask me if you run into any issue. As for the C library; I useglibc for my main pc only for the availability of packages, but I plan to use musl for my pi.

@fatboy @Meeper I recommend VOID with a desktop pre-configured. The MATE version is great. LXDE runs a tad faster though. The pre-configured desktop takes all the stress out of setup.

@fatboy @Meeper Let me know how it goes. I've heard some mention they had issues with the XFCE version. If you have issues try the LXDE version and then install XFCE. I installed VOID from scratch the first time I ran it. It was a difficult but very educational experience. It gave me so much more control over my linux use. I found it ran pretty quick, the package manger is awesome with heaps of apps. I recommend installing OCTOxbps to make package management easy:"sudo xbps-install -Su octoxbps"

@cyprian @Meeper Think I saw that on reddit? Was an upgrade issue or something?
