Once more for the people in the back:Put content warnings on your politics posts. I come to Mastodon specifically to avoid the horrible things in the news.I don't care how urgently you want me to see it. In fact, adding a content warning will make me *more* likely to care, because it will give me time to brace myself.

@00dani @DialMforMara My point is not about politics at all. It's about asking a global network filled with people that don't know or follow you to suddenly starts CW'ing topics that don't interest you.I don't know or follow this person, yet the rando request to CW stuff was made of me as part of the audience. If that's not entitlement then it must be a misunderstanding of how the Fediverse replicates posts to thousands of instances. I can't think of a third explanation that makes sense.

@jonw @00dani @DialMforMara I am having trouble figuring out why people are asking people to use CWs - it's hyper entitled to ask other people to use the social network the way you believe it should be used. There's features available to deal with things you don't want - filters, unfollowing, muting, banning, un-federating, etc. Also, not all federated systems even support the CW feature when posting. It's as odd as asking someone to ensure they color all their text blue when posting. "Please, think of my eyes!"How about if you don't like what you're seeing on your timelines, you adjust using the tools available to you? Otherwise, you might as well just be trying to direct what people say, too.
