@elthommy QOTO is a STEM instance (I'm its founder).. If your looking for IT but also the greater world of STEM as a whole we may be a good fit.Some info, while we are a STEM instance what we mean by that is all our users are STEM professionals or have a focus on STEM in their life in some way (even if just as a hobby). But we do not put limitations on the topics posted. So while there is a lot of scholarly STEM conversations or cool eye candy in our feed there is also a lot of just having fun and messing around.

@p Wait... "cancelled"? Before or after forcefully defederating FSE?I mean you must admit, p, there's a lot of extremely toxic and general assholes in your instance. Racist, homophobics, etc. Not that it would justify blocking FSE but I can see how foreign admins would refuse to do the moderation job you don't want to do (not calling you lazy, but you maintain a hands-off approach to FSE, that's just how it is).Granted there's awesome people too, but again, even you had to place limits, for example to people like Jojo.

@elthommy my most positive interactions have been with FSE, noagenda, shitposter.club, skippers-bin, and a few others. If you're down though I'd say self-hosting is always a good option. I haven't yet but I've considered it.

I am starting to review the list of instances and trying to make up my mind. For now there is 2 new criteria I am taking in account: I want ideally to be able to conenct to the instnace website even when I am at office and unfortunatly for me the corporate firewall seems to block access to some of the instnaces and I have no idea who filled it its blacklist. The other crieteria is that I am a bit reluctant to try out Pleroma instances ^_^ Anyway I have al lthe information I need now I need to give a try and choose an instance. Thanks again all!
