Jeeez... My first day with "user friendly distro #Manjaro #Linux"...I've installed it. During the first: 'sudo pacman -Syu' for some reason the package manager stopped for a long time... to think about life... I killed him, then there was another problem with "unable to lock database". Fixed it.In Russian-speaking community Manjaro they one guy told me: "you can simply install drivers in mhwd", it seemed to be a joke, which I did not evaluate.[see the next toot...]

I have a GeForce MX150, and to make it work I did everything I could to make it work, as written in this manual: https://forum.manjaro.org/t/howto-set-up-prime-with-nvidia-proprietary-driver/40225.It all worked out. Thank you very much Mr. Author of this manual! But, just because the discrete card starts to work it doesn't mean that the end -- hello tiring!Yeah, I beat it!$ sudo pacman -S yay$ yay -S prime$ prime glxinfo | grep OpenGLHellyeah, tearing is dead![see the next toot...]

You think "user friendliness" is over? No way!Now there's a problem with #LUKS, or rather with #Manjaro.I'll just leave the link:https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=site%3Aforum.manjaro.org+luks+slowI found this: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/497746/how-to-change-luks-encryption-difficulty-on-manjaro-full-disk-encryptBut if I can't solve the problem, I will have to reinstall Manjaro and manually partition the disk.I'm tired of so much user friendliness.[see the next toot...]

@TheFuzzStone Sorry, I only took a short look at manjaro once, mainly because it is partly developed in my country, but I let that experiment go soon, ubuntu and fedora are just more stable and have better hw support...

@TheFuzzStone For me it's not clear, what actual problem you have right now, that you want to solve. For slow boot times I think one could blame GRUB2 if Manjaro's full disk encryption is using it with LUKS. But I have to check whether Manjaro acutually does GRUB2 in early boot mode to use it with LUKS boot encryption. If it is the way I assume, then I was told that there is a patch in the wild to fix GRUB2 slow decryption speeds due to not using hardware acceleration.
